Go4less is a sport and leisure discount card for Norwich City Council residents. You can read about it and apply on the Council's website. Please note that for senior citizens and qualifying disabled people with a national bus pass, the Go4less discount is included. The card offers up to 50% off council facilities (including council-run ones in Eaton Park) as well as other leisure attractions in the City.

Bowls
South Park Bowling Club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2 pm from mid-April to mid-September on the green near the model boating pond. They run casual play sessions and organise matches with other clubs. There is an annual subscription and a small fee each time the Club meets.
They are always keen to welcome new members so if you're interested please make contact with
the Secretary, Sarah Holmes, on 01603 618292 or by e-mail. If you go along to try it, don't forget to wear flat-soled shoes.
The public can also use a smaller green nearby - apply at the kiosk near the model boating pond.

BuggyFit
BuggyFit's pre/postnatally qualified fitness instructors will help you back to fitness after your new arrival. Bring your baby, pram or push chair and if it's your first session please arrive at 10.45am as there's a Health Screening Form to complete. Meet at the Rotunda.

Café Essence
The cafe is in one of the quadrant pavilions and serves tea, coffee, cold drinks, cakes and bacon baps. The winter opening times are from 10 - 4 Friday to Monday inclusive.

Croquet
Norwich Croquet Club extends a warm welcome to all who are interested in playing this tactical, absorbing and enjoyable game. It plays both the association and golf games and there is help on hand for new members. Association croquet requires a variety of skills, gained by playing regularly and with the necessary coaching. Golf croquet is a simpler, less competitive and more sociable variation. Members may use the lawn at any time as long as the grass is not being mowed, usually Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. White clothing is usual for events and flat-soled shoes are essential. The Club has mallets for new members to use until they get their own. The Club holds tournaments and inter-club matches with other East Anglian clubs. The season runs from Easter to late September. Newcomers please contact 01603 431046. Children's play area
The lively children's play area has a wide variety of play facilities and is always popular. You can find it on the North Park Avenue side of the Park.

Cycle speedway
The speedway track is home to the Norwich Stars Cycle Speedway Club. It's on the North Park Avenue side of the park. The Club will host a major Test Match in Eaton Park on August 1st 2012.

English Touch Rugby
Touch Rugby is played by six-a-side teams of both sexes of all ages and abilities. The Organiser/Referee Anthony Stoppani of the Norwich Rebels would be delighted to welcome you to a practice / training session. These take place every Tuesday evening from 6pm. Jex Rangers Junior FC is one of two youth football clubs and has teams in the age ranges of under 8 to under 16. They meet Saturday and any matches are on Sunday, either at Eaton Park or at other locations. Jex Rangers is an FA Chartered Club and a member of the FA Respect Campaign. Coaches hold the FA Level 1 coaching certificate. Contact Billy Downs on 01603 502833.
Lakeford Rangers Junior FC train on Saturday mornings and play matches on Sundays.
Teams range from under 7s to under 16s. Enquiries to Chris Bond on 01603 716140.

Model boating
Model boating people say that the boating pond is the best in the country. It measures 134 x 24.5 metres (440 x 80 ft) and is 85 cm deep. Anyone can bring a boat and sail it - if there is an event, then at the end away from the clubhouse. The Norwich Model Boat Club attracts enthusiasts and spectators from far and wide with regular meetings and regattas, including National Submarine Day. Highlights have been the appearance of models of the Titanic, HMS Edinburgh and the aircraft carrier HMS Ocean. The Norwich Model Boat Club, formed in 1907, welcomes new members and can be contacted via their website. The 2012 Regatta List is available here (PDF file).

Nordic walking
Nordic Walking in the Park takes place on Wednesday mornings (two sessions) and are run by Lisa Draper (fully trained by Nordic Walking UK and insured). It's a great way to enjoy the beautiful park, fresh air and exercise. Suitable for every able body. For more information, contact Lisa on 0773 345 6593 or by email to lisadraper3@gmail.com

Pitch and putt
The 18-hole pitch and putt course is at the Bluebell Road end of Eaton Park and is open at 9 am. The last tee-off varies according to the time of year. Golf clubs and balls are provided by there is a refundable £2.50 deposit. See here for pitch charges.
The Eaton Park Pitch & Putt Club for the Retired has been running for more than 20 years and keen to attract new members. People of all abilities are invited to join. A handicap system operates. The Club, which has over 40 members, also organises other social activities. Contact the Club Secretary on 01603 867575.
The U3A Pitch and Putt Group play on Tuesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. throughout the year. Contact Lesley MacLeod on 01603 743789.

Push and Tone
Push and Tone is a one-hour postnatal fitness class in the Park with a qualified instructor for mums trying to get back into shape after their bundle of joy. There is no pressure as you go at your own pace, and the best bit is that no babysitter is needed as baby and pushchair come too! This is also a chance for new mums to socialise and support in a group to help overcome the postnatal 'baby blues'. Putting
The putting green is near the bowls lawns on the South Park Avenue side near the model boat clubhouse - apply at the kiosk near the boating pond for putter and ball. See here for green charges.

Running
Eaton Park is ideal for running and links to the UEA parkland and Yare River path. Don't miss Parkrun on Saturday mornings at 9am. See the website www.parkrun.org.uk for more information.

Skateboarding and BMX
Skateboard The very popular skateboard and BMX park meets national standards and is lit after dark. Find it on the South Park Avenue side near the Community Centre.

Tennis
Tennis The grass tennis courts were taken out of service in 2010 and will be replaced with two more hard courts with lighting. Public hard courts are available near the model boat clubhouse (see kiosk to pay). Grass courts are available in Heigham Park on the Avenues. See here for court fees.
